Screening of the pelvis for women include uterus, ovaries, endometrium, adnexas. Would be able to evaluate for free fluid, cysts, mass, thickened endometrium.

•personal history of breast cancer and have had to use tamoxifen
•abnormal or irregular bleeding

Scanning your complete abdomen would include:
aorta
pancreas
gallbladder
liver
kidneys

reasons to scan your abdomen:
•pain
•screen for any sort of abnormality (can be used to compare in later exams)
•family history of gallstones, kidney stones
•personal history of alcoholism
An ultrasound of your descending Aorta would determine whether or not you have plaque build up or dilation of the major artery that travels from your heart down your abdomen. Imaging would include from your diaphragm down your abdomen to where it splits to go into your legs.
Reasons to have it done:
•family history of AAA
•history of smoking
•high blood pressure or high cholesterol
An ultrasound of your kidneys could determine if you have kidney stones, cysts or a back up of fluid due to a blockage.
Some reasons to look at your kidneys:
• Back pain
• History of kidney stones
• Family history of kidney disease
Take a look at your arms or your legs to rule out a blood clot. Having pain in one extremity or both? We can take a look.
Reasons to rule out a blood clot:
•Recent use of an IV and now having pain/redness
•Family history of clotting disorders
•Pain, redness or swelling
•Long periods of standing or sitting
•Currently taking birth control
Evaluate your carotid arteries for plaque buildup, tortuous vessels, or narrowing. This scan would include your right and left common carotid arteries, internal carotid artery (ICA), external carotid artery (ECA) and vertebral artery.
Some reasons to be performed:
•History of smoking
•Dizziness/lightheadedness
•Vertigo
•High cholesterol
•History of stroke or concern for a stroke
Take a look at your thyroid gland to evaluate for nodules or enlargement. You can also rule out enlarged lymph nodes if you feel a lump in your neck.

•Enlargement or lumps in your neck
•Fatigue, weight loss or weight gain
